I found some finished projects that never made it to the blog.
Old Fashioned Potholder
This one is from a Japanese book
Stir Me Up potholder
There was a Potholder CAL a while back on SAARC group on Ravelry.I wanted to make a several to fill up a wall but all I could manage were these four.
August is another birthday month for us. This month A turns thirteen . I can’t tell you how strange it feels to think I’m a mother of teen. I mean,I haven’t grown up at all and still a teen in my head. Then how come I am a mother to a teen already?!
I managed to finish up two potholders
Potholders/Dishclothes are such a great way to practice stitches or say ,test waters if you can really endure the pattern for a scarf.
The Waffle stitch I loved_ the ombre sugar and cream yarn in this colour works out so well I think _
the Basketweave not as much although I do like the colour I’ve kind of got bored with it after doing so many projects in this colour.
If you are interested , you can find the pattern at Knit Bug
What really excited me about these potholders are the back! The green fabric I just adore, it was in the pack Shanna gave me. I did a little stipple free motion practice on them, and then stitched it on the back with a walking foot.I really liked the tutorial for the backing I found .There are two parts to it check it out. part one part two
Originally these were going to be Christmas gifts, but then I changed my mind, and only finished them now.Its a good thing I waited because, I found the perfect backing fabric and labels too 🙂
I found a nice little label kit at the craft store, that comes with a permanent pen, a stencil and a fusible tape
Here are pictures of two of the Christmas gifts I made.
Pattern : Ripple Potholder
Pattern : Modern Vintage Potholder
For the patterns I used
Hook : 3.75 F hook
Yarn : Schachenmayr nomotta Catania
Until someone mentioned it to me , I didnot realise that we were at the end of a decade. A lot of things happened this past decade:Came to a foreign land.Discovered the joy of working with my hands.Discovered Crochet groups and then Blogs.Started one on MSN.(2004-2005) Lost it all when my email was hacked. Then started all over again. Here I am now! Its been really fun.
